The opening is spice, dry and warm, something cinnamon-like glowing on the surface, a scent that raises the temperature of the room by a degree. The heart is amber, rich and resinous, less sweet than expected, with a smoky tinge that hints at incense rather than dessert. Then the wood takes over. The dry-down is deep, dark and steady, the kind of base that lasts until morning and asks to be worn close. He looks at the clock, then at the door, then at the clock again.
