The dress code said black, so she wore it, and then she opened the bottle.
The opening is fruit with attitude, tart and pink, berry-like and a little sharp, the flash before the flowers. The heart is a pink floral, feminine without apology, lifted by a soft violet-like sweetness. Then the powder arrives, and it is the point of the whole thing: a fine, cosmetic softness, iris-adjacent, the inside of a compact snapped open in a quiet room, refusing to be discreet. The dry-down is soft and velvety, the powder settling on the skin like it belongs there. She walks into the room in black. Nobody sees pink. Everybody smells it. That was the plan.
