The barber never asked what he wanted; he just reached for the other bottle.
A barbershop at nine in the morning, the radio on low. The opening is aromatic in the classic sense, clean and slightly camphorous, with an unexpected wash of fruit over the top, ripe and juicy, the bowl by the till nobody admits to bringing. The heart keeps the fougère structure, aromatic and softly hay-like, with the fruit warming into something rounder. The dry-down is the familiar mossy, coumarin-sweet base of the family, tidy and long-wearing. He looks in the mirror and does not recognise the man for a second. Then he does, and he likes him. He asks what the bottle is called.
