It begins with the classic chypre sparkle, a bright, bitter-edged citrus lit from below by something mossy and green. Then fruit slips into the picture, soft and rounded rather than loud, a peach-like sweetness that takes the sharp edge off the opening. The heart is where the whisper happens: a gentle, edible warmth, a suggestion of caramel or honeyed almond, held in check by the dry, elegant mossy chypre structure underneath. The dry-down is polished and quietly sensual, the fruit and sweetness melting into a warm, earthy base that sits close to the skin for hours. Nobody else at the party heard what he said.
