Nobody tells you that the tide comes back carrying something it did not leave with.
You take the coast road after dark because it is faster, and because the window is down. The opening is the classic fougère handshake: aromatic, clean, a little bitter, the scent of a barber's towel snapped in sea air. Then the road turns inland and the composition turns with it. The heart warms into an ambery haze, resinous and softly sweet, the kind of warmth you notice only when the wind stops. By the dry-down, warm amber and dry woods have settled into something low and steady, like a fire seen from the water. You reach the house. You do not go in yet.
Imagine it as
Starting points for a brandA men's eau de parfum for a coastal menswear label, positioned between the gym bag and the dinner table.
A body wash and hair-and-body mist duo for a surf-side hotel, sold in the room and at the beach bar.
A reed diffuser in smoked glass for a members' club lounge, where amber does the talking after nine.
