Everyone at the table behaved, except the one who smelled like this.
It opens with fruit that has gone past ripe into something darker, a red-wine depth that makes the sweetness feel adult. Beneath it a floral heart unfolds, rich and full-bodied, the kind of flowers that are photographed against black velvet rather than in a meadow. Then the amber turns edible. Caramelised sugar and a warm, vanillic amber that coats the fruit and flowers and refuses to let them fade. The dry-down is long and low, more texture than note, and it clings to fabric the way a good evening clings to memory. Rules were followed all night. This scent was the exception.
