She kept the bottle in a drawer she never told anyone about.
The first breath is a flower already in the dark: a rich, red-toned floral, dense and slightly wine-like, with none of the innocence of a garden. Behind it the amber builds, warm and resinous, sweet the way old wood and old money are sweet. Then the leather. It arrives slowly, smooth and supple rather than raw, like the inside of a glove that has been worn for years. The three become one scent in the dry-down: floral, amber and hide fused into something that reads as heat, confidence and intent. It does not ask to be liked. Hours later, on a scarf, it is still there, and so is the question of who she was meeting.
