Above the cloud line the tea grows slowly, and so does everything else.
The road to the gardens climbs through cloud for the last hour, and when it clears the whole valley is below you. High-mountain tea is grown here, above a thousand metres, where the leaf thickens and sweetens because the sun is short. The opening is bergamot, the Earl Grey citrus, bitter-bright and a little floral, cut with cold air. In the heart, Lilybelle, a muguet note, green and dewy and faintly watery, gives the composition the sheen of a flower that grows in shade, while a high-mountain tea accord, creamy and lightly floral, the buttery green of a lightly oxidised oolong, anchors it. Then the base turns, and it is a surprise: Ambrocenide, a powerful woody-amber, dry and radiant, a warm rock in the sun. The mist comes back in. You cannot see the road you came up.
Imagine it as
Starting points for a branda bergamot-tea body mist and lotion for a premium Taiwanese or Japanese skincare brand.
a hair mist and conditioner for a haircare line built around tea extracts.
a hand cream for a boutique hotel's in-room amenities.
